A habit tracking app for coaches who want momentum, not guilt

With Grove, building habits is simple: lock in a habit with your client during a session, they tap once a day to mark it done. You see the streaks, the gaps, and the momentum across your whole roster from one dashboard. When a habit starts slipping, you spot it before the next session so you can step in with the right kind of support.

The standard playbook for habit work is to recommend a habit-tracking app like Streaks, Way of Life, or Habitify, and hope your client opens it. Most install it for a week and forget. The ones who do stick with it build their habits in private, which means the next session is a self-report on whether they did the thing instead of a shared view of what is actually working. Grove keeps the habit visible to both of you and allows for notes on what is working and what is not at the moment of reflection, every day, so the work between sessions stops being a mystery.

How Grove handles habits

  • Set habits with the client during a session. They appear on the client app immediately.
  • Clients tap once to mark done. No friction, no log-in-and-fill-a-form ritual.
  • Coach sees streaks, gaps, and momentum across the whole roster in one view.
  • Habits roll up into the daily check-in dashboard so a missed habit surfaces with context.
Who uses this most

Habit tracking matters most in health coaching and wellness coaching practices where small daily behaviors compound into protocol outcomes.

Questions, answered

Common questions

How are Grove habits different from what my client could do in Streaks, Way of Life, or Habitify?

Streaks, Way of Life, and Habitify are all built for the individual. The client tracks alone, and the habit data lives on their phone. Grove habits are built for the coaching relationship. Your client taps to mark done, and that data is in front of you the next morning. When you see a habit slipping, you can ask about it before they have to bring it up. The habit your coach can see lands differently than the one you track alone.

Can I see all my clients' habits in one place?

Yes. Your dashboard shows every client and the status of their habits this week: who is hitting them, who is drifting, who has not engaged. You can sort or filter to find the clients who need attention, and click into any client for their full habit history.

Can I assign different habits to different clients?

Yes. Every habit is per-client. A stress and recovery client might track a 5-minute breathing reset and an evening wind-down ritual. A nutrition client might track water intake and a protein-first breakfast. You set the habit during a session, and it appears on the client app immediately.

What about habits to cut out, not just habits to build?

Grove tracks daily completion, so the cleanest framing is habits you want to build. That includes the absence of a habit (for example, "no screens after 9pm" tracked as a yes/no the client marks done at bedtime). For patterns that need a more nuanced trigger, the weekly focus topic is a good complement: you can set a focus like "Notice your stress-eating triggers" that lives at the top of the daily check-in.
