Self-coaching mode: practice what you preach
Self-coaching mode lets you run Grove on yourself: your own daily check-in, your own habits, your own reflections. It is free, does not count toward your client limit, and stays private to you. The point is not just to try out the product. It is to live inside the same workflow you ask your clients to follow, every day. This builds invaluable client empathy while also helping you work toward your own health and wellness goals.

Not from laziness, but because the practice they teach is built for clients with structure and accountability, and they do not have a coach. Running Grove on yourself closes that gap. You experience the daily check-in your clients fill out. You feel what it is like to miss a day and step back in. You build empathy you cannot get from theory, and a steadier daily practice for your own life.
How self-coaching mode works
- A personal check-in template you fill out alongside your clients.
- Habits you set for yourself, separate from any client roster.
- Reflections that stay private to you.
- Free. Does not count toward your client limit.
Self-coaching mode is most often used by health coaches and wellness coaches who want to live inside the same workflow they ask their clients to follow.
Common questions
Why would I use Grove on myself?
Three reasons. First, credibility: you know your tool because you use your tool. Second, empathy: you feel exactly what your client feels when the morning check-in pings or when they miss a few days. Third, your own life: most of us do our best coaching work when our own practice is steady, and self-coaching helps it stay steady. We use Grove on ourselves every day.
Are my self-coaching notes private?
Yes. Self-coaching data is private to you. It does not appear in your coach dashboard, your client list, or any reports. It is your space, and only you see it.
Does this cost extra?
No. Self-coaching is included in every plan, free, and does not count toward your client limit. We believe the best coaches use the methods they teach, so we made the cost of using Grove on yourself zero.
Can my clients see I am using self-coaching mode?
No. Self-coaching is invisible to your clients. They see you as their coach. You see yourself, in self-coaching mode, completely separately.
